Timeless Whole House Renovation

At last, our St. Albans Road reveal is here. More than a year in the making, a series of pivots along the way of what may be one of our most exciting reveals to date. We’ve always said, we’re only as good as our latest project, and it feels like we have our groove back. After many long and hard months with post-pandemic blues, industry hardships, and a major dive in the labor pool (including our own staffing issues here at Jkath), we’re here to say that with several doses of patience, intentional and well-planned design, along with a dedicated core team, we’re feeling like we’re back on top again.

Off white painted cabinetry, dark alder stained kitchen island, aged brass fixtures and white oak engineered floors.

This project was a timeless whole house renovation, taking the house down to the studs, moving key rooms such as the kitchen and dining room, a newly added bathroom and a garden center in the basement, and an all-new refresh throughout the remainder of the home.

Eternal Tile Selections

Of the many details, we labored over, the final tile selections are just as timeless as they are playful while adding character to this traditional home. One of our favorite installations includes the powder room Chapter 7 from Jeffrey Court and the Tribune Mosaic.

The small-scale white hexagon tile paired with a hand-laid black hexagon border allows the black accents in the space to pop in the second-story kids’ bathroom. The bathroom vanities as shown are included in our upcoming Vanity Collection launch, stay tuned for the release later this Summer.

The herringbone shower tile as shown through the mirror is not only playful but adds interest with dramatic grout lines. The light green color provides contrast to this bathroom space, allowing for clean white walls, which we love to incorporate in most bathroom spaces.

The primary bathroom is packed with design details that started with the natural stone mosaic floor, also from the Jeffrey Court HD collection. A colorful custom bathroom vanity, also a part of our upcoming launch, and matching plumbing and hardware finishes. This bathroom was inspired by a previous Jkath project, Country Club.

The fireplace surround is a special design moment worth calling out; a natural stone hearth paired with an imperfect subway tile surround and a custom wood mantel built in our cabinet shop, painted in a neutral color to match other custom elements within the home.

Custom Cabinetry Details

Our cabinet shop perfected the craft with the entire house of cabinetry. The kitchen and pantry areas steal the show, lending themselves to classic, yet neutral tones to complement the remainder of this home. The kitchen cabinetry is Limewash by Sherwin Williams painted perimeter with a dark stained alder wood island. The pantry is Wrought Iron, by Benjamin Moore with matching kitchen soapstone countertops.

Hard Working Essentials

Some of our most beloved selections are our hardest-working essentials in the home. Cabinetry details aside, we’ve paid special attention to the kitchen hardware in unlacquered brass to compliment the live finish of the kitchen faucet.

Mudroom storage is always a critical design element, where form and function intersect. The bold pop of cabinet color paired with the delicate wall covering make this space feel intentional and everlasting.

Bonus Garden Center

The basement level has a walkout to the expansive vegetable garden along the Minnehaha Creek, an opportunity we did not want to leave behind. A built-out garden center, hand washing station, and optimal storage for decorative keepsakes.

We hope you leave feeling inspired by our newest reveal, a newly transformed home for this young family to enjoy for decades ahead.
