Sunday Saves: Our Favorite Vintage Rugs and Where We Sourced Them

We’re sharing a round up of some of our most loved and recent vintage rugs. While we love a good authentic find, and will share those resources here – sometimes an affordable retail option does the job too. We will be the first to admit, once you get started on this old, but new trend, you may be slightly addicted.

The above rug is called Lyla, from a favorite, Six Vintage Rugs. Liz does weekly drops every Monday night, get on her email list to be the first to know. And follow her on Instagram for continuous inspiration. We purchased this rug for our new design office, currently under construction.

Insider tip on getting started to rug shopping, since many of these are one of a kind, get to know your rug dimensions. Here is a handy rug size guide also from Six Vintage Rugs. In some cases, acting fast is the way to go, so knowing what dimensions will work for you will help narrow the field and increase buying confidence.

The above mudroom rug was a score from, you guessed it, Six Vintage Rugs.

There are no shortage of places to add a colorful rug, some of our favorite places include kitchen runners, bathroom vanities, mudrooms, bedrooms and main living areas. The above runner is one of our OG’s from Zuma Imports, out of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. With a wide variety that is continually stocked, there is something for everyone.

Keep in mind when shopping vintage, you’re contributing to sustainable efforts. Reviving 100 year old rug and giving it new life, while keeping it out of a landfill is always a good idea.

Above, we mentioned retail as a great resource as well. Not everyone can shop on the fly with limited or one of a kind resources, so planning is key. Our mudroom at Drew Avenue has a gorgeous rug from Urban Outfitters, called Remi Printed Rug available in a few sizes.

We love calming neutrals, so adding a pop of color for contrast easily adds character to any space. This runner is the Anya indigo Hand Knotted Rug, 100% wool. When possible consider a wool option, they are naturaly stain resistant and require less cleaning than their synthetic competitors.

The Naples Blush Patterned Runner is the ideal compliment to the white oak cabinetry in our Biscayne Avenue kitchen reveal we completed in 2021. While not wool in material, this is a practical solution for a busy area of the home that may need regular cleaning and ease of replacing down the road.

The Caesar Area Rug, in our beloved Deephaven Drive main floor refresh. A 100% wool solution for this family that plans to use their new space everyday.

We are sharing a few additional selections we’ve made recently for upcoming installs. Stay tuned to see more, for now we will share the rug and link the source.

Kasuri Hand-Knotted Wool Rug for our Chowen Avenue living room furnishing install. And the Amara Collection wool area rug in Turquoise and Ink from Loloi Rugs. You can drop us an email if you’d like more information on either of these two rugs!
