Modern Farmhouse Reveal
We’re back sharing more of Drew Avenue, our most written about project to date. In case you missed it, you can read more here on all of the interior selections, design decisions and final reveals.
Today, we’re sharing the exterior reveal. In our Midwestern climate, it can be challenging to capture these images during the Winter and Spring. So we headed back when the grass was green, the trees were full and the seasonal porch was set up.
But first, let’s look at where we started:
Once we partnered with Architect, Jennifer Hilla Schlag with American Prairie Architects, this was the vision of where we were headed. Jennifer is so talented with her hand sketching.

What you see is an existing foundation, the house rebuilt to create a two story home, 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, an open floorpan on the main floor, laundry relocated to the main floor, a newly added mudroom and a beautiful screen porch transformation.

The exterior selections were thoughtfully curated with James Hardie siding in a Sweet Basil pre finished color and Marvin Elevate casement windows in black.

One of our favorite spaces in this whole house is the screen porch, featuring Sunscape Vinyl windows, allowing full closure and protection during inclement weather. This was an existing space to the home, we were able to build onto of it and add a 4th bedroom to the second story.

Our clients did a terrific job furnishing this space with a cozy boho inspired area rug and teak furniture with neutral cushions to contrast the black vinyl windows.
We hope you’re inspired to reinvent your existing space, adding square feet where needed while considering the existing floorpan for maximum benefits.
