Cozy Chalet Lower Level Living Room + Bathroom Remodel
After 20 years of living in this home these homeowners finally took the leap to finish their lower level in phase II of the Whitegate Lane project. Livable lower levels are a must-have for Minnesotan homes. In summers it’s where we stay coolest. In winters it’s where we hibernate away. As we look to the days of hosting parties at home again, this lower level is ready with a cozy living room, fun bar, and stylish guest bathroom.
This lower level started as many unfinished basements do: concrete floors, exposed insulated walls and plumbing rough ins. Now it is unrecognizable as an entertainer’s dream space for friends, family or cozy nights in.
The large black metal fireplace wall is the focal point of the room. It’s balanced with reclaimed white oak on the sides. A long linear gas fireplace with lava rock media kit is neutral in design and timeless.
Our design team also worked with the homeowner to source furnishings for this space. The mix of cozy sectional for the whole family, as well as mix and match chairs that are unique yet cohesive.
This guest bathroom is stylish and functional for hosting guests for the night or weekend. As with the owner’s bathroom in this home, we utilized the beautiful Linear vanity from Room & Board. The size is perfect for the storage needs of this space. A large 36″ square Infinity mirror is a unique size and provides plenty of “powdering my nose” space for this guest bathroom.
The shower features a 1″ hexagon Calacatta Gold marble mosaic on the floor with Dew glass field tile walls for a pop of color. Brizo Litze plumbing fixtures are an industrial style with knurled finishes and extension arm features.
This wraps up our Whitegate Lane project. We are so thankful for these clients to trust us not once, but twice with completing their dream home. This home will serve them well for many years to come.
